Researchers in Australia have found that signs of Parkinson's disease may be detectable up to 20-30 years before symptoms appear. They used a biomarker called F-AV-133 in combination with PET scans to accurately diagnose and track neurodegeneration in Parkinson's disease. This diagnostic technique could potentially help detect Parkinson's disease more than 20 years sooner than current methods.
