Researchers from the Nanjing Institute of Geology and Paleontology at the Chinese Academy of Sciences have published a paper announcing the discovery of a prehistoric tapeworm preserved partially intact within a sample of 100-million-year-old mid-Cretaceous Kachin amber from Myanmar. The scientists suggest that finding a tapeworm from this era is rare and could potentially contain DNA from its ancient host.
