Chinese rocket, not Falcon 9, will hit moon on March 4, confirms Indian-led team

A US research team co-led by an Indian-origin space scientist who once dabbled in Tamil movies claims to have found near-conclusive evidence that a "rocket stage" from a 2014 experimental Chinese lunar mission rather than Falcon 9, built by Elon Musk's SpaceX, will slam into the far side of the moon on March 4.

Bengaluru too to get national centre for carbon capture & utilisation

A lab at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) will soon set up a National Centre of Excellence on Carbon Capture and Utilisation (NCCCU).

International Space Station will plunge into Pacific in 2031: NASA

According to NASA, the ISS, launched in 1998, will be "de-orbited" in January 2031. Once out of orbit the space station will make a dramatic descent before splash-landing in Point Nemo, which is about 2,700 km from any land and has become known as the space cemetery- a final resting place for decommissioned space stations, old satellites and other human space debris
